Beetle Bags

I picked up the beetle bags from Dream Machine last week. With some help from Steve I fitted them on Monday evening. The bike's a bit wider now so I'm going to have to be caredful when filtering. They look awesome and were well worth the trouble that it took to get them done.

Beetle Bags on Google

Just did a search on Google for Beetle Bags. This site comes up on the first page! W00t!

Beetle Bag Update

I've just spoken to Daz at Dream Machines. Dream Machines warranty all of their work and therefore they will only use someone else's primer as a base, flatting and applying their own primer before they start applying topcoats. The primer that they've been putting on has been 'pinholing' which is very unusual with a Corbin product. Daz was telling me that Dream Machines have sprayed a lot of Corbin products in the past and are usually very impressed with the finish.

The areas that are pinholing have to be flatted back and a skim of filler put on before reapplying the primer. So at the moment the bags are still in primer and it's going to be another couple of weeks before they are finished.

Got a picture of the Beetle Bags in primer:

I took them to the body shop today for painting and they are pretty busy so it's going to be at least two weeks before I get them back. Fingers crossed they'll be a bit quicker though..

My Beetle Bags are here!

FedEx man came before I left for work this morning. They look luverly!! I'll write more later..

127.37 miles to go

The Beetle Bags are still in Stanstead. I had to call up and pay the duty and VAT before they would release the goods. All being well, the goods should be out for delivery tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

5,384 miles

My Beetle Bags left California on Thursday. They arrived in Stanstead yesterday (Friday) and are awaiting customs clearance. FedEx are forecasting delivery on Monday. Whooppee!!

Yellow Beetle Bags

Update on the Beetle Bags for the Rocket. Corbin aren't able to match the Triumph Racing Yellow using their gelcoat so they are sending them finished with a primer that will take normal automotive spray paint.

Went to see Nik Waldren at Auto Panel Craft in Crookham Village earlier today. He was really helpful and keen to help me out. Doing the yellow shouldn't be a problem but he's checking. He's also willing to do the gold fleck flames too. Nice!!

Beetle Bags

Just ordered some Corbin Beetle Bags for The Rocket. They didn't seem to mind making some in yellow with gold flames! I should have them in four to five weeks..
